Dr. Patrick Potives, Pharm.D., J.D.

Dr. Patrick Potives, Pharm.D., J.D., is a dedicated Pharmacist-Attorney who merges his expertise in both pharmacy practice and law to assist healthcare professionals navigating the complexities of regulatory compliance.  Dr. Potives earned his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from Western University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy, and seeking to further expand his skill set, he pursued a Juris Doctor degree from California Western School of Law, where he earned the prestigious Am Jur Award for receiving the highest grade in his Health Law and Policy class.

Throughout his career, Dr. Potives has contributed to a variety of settings, including community pharmacy, where he gained hands-on experience in patient care and daily pharmacy operations.  He also worked with RxPrep as a law pharmacist, tutoring pharmacy students preparing for the CPJE and MPJE law exams.  His legal journey continued at Eishen Law Offices, where he served as a transactional health law clerk, gaining valuable experience in the legal intricacies of healthcare transactions.  Today, Dr. Potives practices as an associate attorney at California Pharmacy Lawyers, where he focuses on representing pharmacies and pharmacists with administrative law matters, particularly those involving the California Board of Pharmacy and providership challenges from the California Department of Health Care Services.

In addition to his legal and pharmacy practice, Dr. Potives serves as a Pharmacy Law Adjunct Professor at Western University of Health Sciences, College of Pharmacy, where he shares his wealth of knowledge with the next generation of pharmacists.  His unique blend of clinical pharmacy knowledge and legal expertise positions Dr. Potives as a key advisor in the healthcare legal space, where he continues to guide professionals through regulatory challenges with a nuanced understanding of both fields.
